SPRING GREENHOUSE WORKSHOPS

Everyone knows our workshops are great money savers, especially for our jumbo basket class. We don’t want you to miss out, so we are offering three options as follows:

  1. Come in during the week at a scheduled time and put your project together;
  2. Have us plant your project for you according to your preferences; or let us plant our most popular combination for sun or shade for you
  3. Reschedule for the first week of May, realizing that your basket won’t have as much growing time

We are making every effort for these workshops to be as good as they can be under the circumstances. Please email gardengirl@milaegers.com or kris@milaegers.com with specific questions.

Orchids at Your Leisure

March 18th – March 31st

Racine Store

In order to be mindful of the safety of our customers, we are restructuring our Festival to be a “nonevent” with no set time and no orchid displays for viewing.

However, we have brought in thousands of orchids at special pricing for the Orchid Festival, and we would love for you to see this magnificent collection at your leisure within the next 14 days.

You can shop without any crowds of people—any time you choose, at any time during our store hours.

As an added incentive, we are offering 20% off your orchid purchase, including containers and potting mix, between March 18th & March 31st. You can shop for orchids in Racine or Sturtevant. A special spacious display will be set up in our greenhouse with blooming spring plants and some tropical. Orchids start at $12.99, now discounted for 14 days to $10.40

If you have registered for the Orchid on Bark or the Kokedama class, either we will make it for you and you can arrange for pickup, or you can make an appointment with Deanna and we will provide individual instruction at our Racine store.

Spring Fashion Show:
Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You

In order to be compliant with social distancing, we are outfitting our models one at a time and patching together a video for your viewing pleasure.

This is rather time-consuming, forcing us to move the viewing date to the latter part of April. At that time, you can have us select the outfits you like, or, if restrictions are relaxed, you can come to the stores and an associate will help you. Special discounts will be available at that time.

More details will be available soon; meanwhile, watch for featured items on Facebook and our website.

You’ll be happy to know that spring and summer have never looked better, and whenever shopping resumes, you’re going to be amazed! It’s worth the wait!

Tuesday, March 31st   6:30pm
Sunday, April 5th   11:00am

Racine Store

We will be offering four options of beautiful cold-hardy annuals. Select your desired bowl, and we will provide you with a planting kit containing a low bowl filled with soil, three 5” specialty plants, and six smaller annuals. Pick up your ready-to-plant project, complete with planting directions and map, any time on the day of your scheduled workshop. Come to the registers located at the south end of the Expo house at the Racine store. You can access this directly from the south parking lot, just beyond the gate.

Make a fabulous low bowl arrangement filled with cold-tolerant blooming annuals. 16” low bowl, potting soil, and all plants are included. Ideal to set on your porch for color in early spring and well into summer. Last year’s participants were thrilled with the performance of these annuals. Super early-bird special: cost for the all-inclusive workshop is $30 plus tax.

Greens to Grow

April 1st & onward

Racine & Sturtevant Stores

“Greens to Grow” helps you get a head start on spring planting, so you can harvest fresh, healthy greens as soon as possible. We’ve started the plants early and they are ready for you in a handy size. Cared for properly, you can start to harvest greens a few weeks after planting. Plant an assortment so you can be assured that there will always be something tasty. We usually recommend April 1st as a target date for planting the cold tolerant greens.
