Candlelight Hike and Ski at Riverbend

Let candlelight be your guide through the winter evening forest. End your walk with complimentary hot chocolate in the campfire’s warming circle. Candlelight Trail and hot chocolate are free (but donations are welcomed and appreciated) Beer from Black Husky Brewing and wine available for purchase.

If snow conditions permit, snowshoes and skis will be available to rent on a first come / first served basis for $12+tax per person.

CHILI DINNER OPTION! - add a chili dinner before or after your candlelight venture. Enjoy hearty chili served from the campfire kettle. Chili dinner includes chili (meat and vegetarian options available), soft drink, and s’mores. Beer and wine available for purchase.

Inside and outside seating available on first come basis, with three seating times offered. You are free to walk the trail before or after your dinner.

Spend a little extra time at the farmers market to donate your time and talents to painting bowls for Empty Bowls 2022! Penny from On a Whim will have a wonderful variety of bowls for you to select and paint! Cost is $15 to paint your bowl to donate to Empty Bowls.

On March 6 at the Mileagers Great Lakes Farmers Market, items for the online auction will be on display and we will be selling handmade bowls, donated from local schools and individuals, and your purchase will include a gift card for a cup of soup at participating restaurants.

Kokedama was a relatively unknown way of keeping plants, but is now taking the world by storm. It is a traditional Japanese art form using moss as a container for planting. Kokedama look exceptional when hanging, or try setting them on a decorative waterproof dish to be displayed. There are some cultures where moss is the symbol of hope, rebirth and resurrection. “Greens to Grow” helps you get a head start on spring planting with cold tolerant varieties, so you can harvest fresh, healthy greens as soon as possible. We’ve started the plants early, and they are ready for you in a handy size. Cared for properly, you can start to harvest greens a few weeks after planting. Plant an assortment so you can be assured that there will always be something tasty. We usually recommend April 1st as a target date for planting the cold tolerant greens. Check our website for the list of varieties we are growing for 2022.

This activity enables kids to make a Mother’s Day Garden Pot as a special gift for Mom. Each child gets a 12” plastic pot and mixed plants. Moss Turtle with Succulent Shell Workshop

This adorable moss turtle has seven holes for planting on its back. After you fill the turtle with provided soil, you can select seven 2” succulents to make an interesting arrangement on the “shell”. This is a make it, take it project, which means that you take your turtle home with you after the workshop. Place it on a plate and put it in a sunny window until the weather warms—possibly the end of May. Cost for the all-inclusive workshop is $50. Pre-registration is required.

Farm to Table Dinner

Everyone at Milaeger’s is delighted to welcome you back to our Farm to Table Dinner! This quintessential dining experience is offered in our beautifully decorated retractable roof greenhouse that opens to starry lights of the summer night. The cocktail hour begins at 6:00pm and will feature farm fresh appetizers and signature drinks while you reconnect with friends and meet some new people. Our five-course dinner will be prepared onsite by Braise Restaurant and is a culinary delight made with fresh, local ingredients provided by our Great Lakes Farmers Market farmers and bakers. The complete menu will be available on our website, and provisions will be made for anyone with dietary restrictions if we are notified in advance. Wine lovers will enjoy exclusive wine pairings with each course. As an alternative, mixed drinks will be available at our cash bar. Special pricing on featured wines is offered by the bottle or by the case. Cost for this most remarkable dinner event is $125 per person plus tax and is non-refundable after September 5th. Live music by Sipos & Young. Accommodations are available for groups to sit together, and seating will be assigned in order of the reservations.

When you arrive for a workshop, please check in at the cashier counter. There, you will be given a ticket for the class and will be directed to the workshop area.

If you wish to wear gloves at the workshops, please bring your own. If you forget, Milaeger’s has garden gloves available for purchase. Please wear typical gardening clothing and sensible shoes.

If you have special handicap requirements, please let our staff know when you make your reservation. We will make every effort to make the workshops easy and enjoyable for all.
